There are a couple ways to do this ride. One is over Swan Mountain Road as shown here, and the other is down to Frisco & across Dillon Dam and then up Keystone. Climbing over Swan Mountain Road is shorter (30 miles), but adds some climbing - a total of about 1,700' round trip.
From Breckenridge Rec Center, head down the path to Frisco until the T intersection to the right just past the High School. Take the right turn to the intersection of Highway 9 & Swan Mountain Road. Climb Swan Mountain to Sapphire Point in the bike climbing lane. Cross the Sapphire Point parking lot to the continuation of the path. Descend about ¾ mile to where it crosses Swan Mountain Road. Be careful at this intersection! Cross the road and follow the path into the Summit Cove subdivision, out onto Swan Mountain Road again and right onto the continuation of the path.
The route shown uses the roads in Keystone to the River Run Base Area rather than the bike path, which is in poor repair, narrow and has a number of blind corners.
